Black and hairy, very small ………..

Many people have an adverse reaction to bugs. bugs encountered in homes, workplaces and even gardens tend to ‘come to a sticky end’ like poor boris.

But consider the situations in which we should appreciate bugs for the huge role they play in or lives. bugs play vital roles in our lives as pollinators, biocontrol agents, food sources and as a component in the nutrient cycle to name just a few.

They also play a considerable role as the ‘bad guy’. Not as the passive invaders of what you consider to be ‘your space’ but as vectors for disease, destroyers of homes and consumers of crops.

How do insects and other critters feature in your life? do you fear them, or use them?

What do you feel about insects in ‘your space’?

I met a boris the other day (as all spiders are called boris, obviously), but this one met with a gentler fate – see header picture
